Sir Lancelot Tableclass Minesweeper Homemade Propeller Fitted
I needed a way of incorporating my engineering hobby in with my remote control hobby and started to build the steam engines and boilers for model boats although i have a deep interest in trawlers especially the sidewinder class, i bought the sir lancelot armed trawler as my grandad captained an armed trawler during WWII and most of my chilhood was spent on sidewinder trawlers as my father was chief engineer taking me on these vessels whilst the ships were docked in between fishing trips. The sir lancelot was a kit bought from mountfleet models, these model ships can either be made to museum standards or made as a robust everyday sailing model, im very busy at the moment with the sir lancelot ongoing build.
model supplier www.mountfleetmodels.co.uk The centre boss was turned on the lathe and made from bronze, 4 the blades have been annealed and have been cut from a sheet of 2mm copper plate. line drawn in ready for the main deck fitting, second photo is the forcastle deck waiting to be fitted. Looks very well for my first attempt! Join our Newsletter to have the latest updates of this model emailed to you
