Originaly Built by L.G.Brough in 1936 and now has been restored. Building Materials used: soldered Tin plate and copper rivets, Copper, Brass. I would have said these was the only available metals in 1930’s. Considering its 74 years old, the build was very impressive. It must have been one of the first controlled models of its kind back then.

History of the model Mv Stirling Castle, I know it was completed on 16th March 1936 and built by L.G.Brough. As this is on builder plate and also on Petrol Marine Engine "Kiwi" 15cc Four-stroke, I have tried to find out more about the builder but with no luck??. I believe the engine caught fire sometime in the 60’s and this is what caused most of the damage, and then laid up for over 30years. If anyone has any info on this model please leave comments thank you.

As time went on and certain bits were refurbished, you could tell the model was built by some one with standing, as many of the materials used where not cheap such as the running gear: Handmade Brass Gearbox, Wiring Looms, and all the DC Components used, and not forgetting the "Kiwi" 15cc Four-stroke Petrol Marine Engine.
