Originaly Built by L.G.Brough in 1936 and now has been restored. Building Materials used: soldered Tin plate and copper rivets, Copper, Brass. I would have said these was the only available metals in 1930’s. Considering its 74 years old, the build was very impressive. It must have been one of the first controlled models of its kind back then.

Dennis got the Idea from marine model magazine It’s Based on a Rhine Ferry Mondorf. The builders was Heinrich Broehl. Launched march 1930, sold in 1981 Length 25metres beam 9.5 metres carried eight vehicles, 150 passengers. The model built from all wood powered by a single motor, tunnel Hull. Mr Scratch (Dennis)loves building models from scratch usually all from wood Inc Hull; he mainly uses plans out of Model Boats Magazine. He’s latest model is The Frank Rainer Barge, totally scratch all made from wood, 36” long by 7” beam. Has also made a Dumb Barge to complement his model, take a look at pictures and video clip!

Rv Water Guardian Survey Ship I took a photo of the real vessel about 4 years ago in the Hull Marina. I thought at the time this would make a fantastic model and 4 years later I have started it with no plans just working a picture.
